Beudy Bendigaid

Near Llangrannog, Ceredigion coast, West Wales

about the property

VisitWales gave this Cardigan Bay holiday cottage barn conversion 5 stars for quality and we agree – just ten minutes from Llangrannog or Penbryn beaches, this Welsh holiday cottage for four is the perfect Ceredigion base!

Featured in Woman & Home magazine as the best place in Wales for a Summer Beach Break!

Beudy Bendigaid ('Magnificent Cowshed'!) is contemporary barn conversion in a peaceful location near the West Wales coast (2.5 miles or 7 minute drive to the famous beaches of Llangrannog or Penbryn). Renovated by a pair of designers (one a fashion designer, the other a graphic designer) this is a modern conversion with stylish decor and furnishings. It is immaculately kept and has the feel of a boutique hotel. The Beudy sits next to (but facing away from) it's stone-built former farmhouse where the owners live, at the end of a private track. Views across the lovely Hoffnant valley, and access to acres of lush private gardens and pools. Click for extra photos, an aerial photo or amateur video-clip. VisitWales (WTB) Graded 5*

in detail

Large living area on the first floor with wood-burning stove (first basket of logs supplied). 28 television (digital channels),  DVD player and a quality CD stereo.

The dining area has a large oak table

The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard with a good electric cooker and hobs, fridge, separate freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven and washing machine all in stainless steel.

At either end of the ground floor are two good sized bedrooms with a large family bathroom between.

Bedroom 1 has a traditional King size bed, a wall mounted colour television and French doors out onto the patio.

Bedroom 2 has two single beds and a wall mounted colour television.

The bathroom is tiled throughout and has a white modern bathroom suite and separate generous shower cubicle.

Outside there is a large, enclosed private patio to the front with teak patio set, and steps down to the rest of the 4 acres of (shared-use) garden with a series of ponds, walks and woodland.

The cottage is fully centrally heated but also has a wood burning stove in the living area for cosy nights in.

It is possible to arrange meals and cooked breakfasts (in farmhouse) for a surcharge if required. The main farmhouse provides excellent Bed & Breakfast accommodation if your party is greater than 4.

We had a lovely family holiday. The converted barn was very comfortable and well equipped. The owners were extremely helpful and the location is ideal for visiting towns, villages and beaches along the west Wales coast.

We had a wonderful time at Beudy Bendigaid. The cottage was very homely with everything you could possibly want for a few days away. Fantastic location too - we felt we were in the middle of nowhere but lovely beaches were only a short drive away. I would highly recommend staying here ... we will definitely return.

Spent just a couple of days here- a spontaneous anniversary treat. The grounds are idyllic- tranquil and inspiring for artists, or a quiet read. The bedrooms are the prettiest rooms I've ever holidayed in. Would have loved to stay longer to explore further' Grace and Keith, Berkshire

'What an excellent week! We saw red kite, three sorts of bats, (heard) a tawny owl and a fox all here. Further afield- dolphins at Newquay and Aberporth, choughs and a kestrel at Mwnt, and lovely, friendly humans everywhere. The Beudy has been an oasis of comfort (thank you Huw!) and the icing on the cake has been the tropical sunshine. Arddechog!' Tricia and David, Dorset
