about the property

We're pleased to be the only cottage agency to represent this family-friendly Welsh cottage in the most beautiful part of the North Pembrokeshire coast.

Down a peaceful Pembrokeshire lane, just two miles from Ceibwr Bay, sits Felin Fach (Little Mill) in glorious gardens - a charming larger cottage in a beautiful, unspoilt area.

This house is the perfect getaway for two families or couples as internally there's a comfortable split into what feels like two wings, each with bathrooms.  Children love the wild gardens to play in with plenty of places to hide! There are smallholding activities going on and people are welcome to get involved- tame sheep, ginuea pigs and rabbits to feed and pet.

Within easy reach of beautiful beaches like Mwnt, Aberporth, Newport Sands, Penbryn etc.

customer reviews for Felin Fach

Words don’t justify just how beautiful this house and gardens are. We had such an enjoyable, peaceful stay here surrounded by greenery and birdsong. Ben and his family were gracious hosts and made us feel so comfortable, it honestly felt like a home away from home. The house is in the perfect spot to visit numerous beaches and landmarks, our favourites being Poppit Sands, Llangrannog Beach and St Dogmael’s Abbey (which we visited on market day). We would love to return soon, not least to see the rabbits and guinea pigs which were a huge hit with our toddler son! - Victoria

The hosts, house and location were great. Such a peaceful place with lots of opportunities to head out and see the best of Wales. The house and garden were very special and a credit to the lovely hosts. Thanks for having us!

Such a gorgeous cottage, just perfect for our holiday. We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere but just a short drive to the perfect family beach.

One of our favourite cottages in Wales that we have visited. Beautiful garden and house. Beth was fantastic. An extensive collection of books for all ages. Definitely home to home. Very comfortable beds. The friendly bunnies were a huge hit with our children. Couldn’t fault it. Would definitely book again.

We loved our stay at Felin Fach. It is a beautifully presented cottage with a wonderful garden. So relaxing. We spent the week walking in the Preseli hills and coastal path, beach days and lazing around the cottage and garden. We enjoyed the BBQ and cooking in the gorgeous, well equipped kitchen. Hosted by a lovely family, living up the lane but not at all intrusive yet available for any questions. We would love to return. Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage - our hosts were delightful and very welcoming and helpful. The gardens are perfect for exploring and there were plenty of books to keep us all amused, including the youngest (3 and 17 months) and the eldest (66) and in between! Well provided and comfortable, we'd definitely consider returning!

We went here for a week with our three teenage sons and one set of grandparents. The house is in a beautiful spot and plenty of chairs / plates and glasses for the 7 of us. Sadly my parents had to leave after three nights as my mum, in her 80s, wasn’t able to cope with the layout (there are stairs up to the ensuite bathroom and dotted throughout which aren’t mentioned but probably ought to be for anyone travelling with mobility in mind). Our 14 year old loved feeding the animals each day and declared it his favourite holiday we’ve had in Wales so far which was lovely to hear after my parents had to leave so early. The house is in a very quiet and peaceful spot. We were a bit unlucky with the weather but there is an impressive array of books to work through! We did miss not being able to pop the tv on for an hour on soggy days but this led us to the purchase and completion of our first family 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle… We had a lovely meal at Pizza Tipi in Cardigan (and the Mexican on our last evening). Daily walks along lots of beaches were enjoyed by everyone. We also enjoyed the Preseli Hills and Narbeth one day (my sons were crazy for the butcher’s warm chicken / pork rolls… even I, the veggie amongst us, knew they smelt good! Thank you for making us feel so welcome. It was probably our last week in Wales for a while now that our older boys are off to uni next year so it was nice to have this special week together.

Beautiful and peaceful location, we loved the cottage and it’s elegant simplicity. 2 fun filled days action packed. Next time I’ll come without the children and just sit...facilities and house itself were spot on everything we needed. Highly recommend.

We booked Felin Fach to celebrate my 60th birthday with our children and grandchildren. It didn’t disappoint. The outside space was amazing for the children (aged 7 and 2 1/2) to explore. The low bridge over the shallow stream to the rope swings and slide was a constant source of fun. The many seating areas were great to be able to spread out, listen to the nearby stream, see the stars, enjoy a glass or two and watch the hedgehogs at night. Internally was everything described and more. When they weren’t playing in the garden, the children amused themselves with the dressing up box, toys, books and piano (sorry about that noise). For grownups it was a chilled out relaxing home where we were able to cook a feast to share around the kitchen table, lounge around with one of the hundreds of books and relax. The location meant we had to use the cars to get anywhere, as the children were too small to walk, but it is ideally placed to explore Cardigan Bay by car. The house does have many internal steps and stairs but Beth provided stair gates for us and didn’t hesitate to help out when we couldn’t operate one of them. It was a magical place to spend a long weekend. Please note the photos on the website are out of date as there is no longer a high single bed in one of the bedrooms.

We had a wonderful time at Felin Fach. It’s the perfect cottage for two families to stay in together. The garden is beautiful and we saw so many birds and butterflies over the weekend. It is like a little paradise.

We’ve just returned from the most wonderful holiday at Felin Fach. An absolutely gorgeous home and gardens which were enchanting, especially for our three year old. It was lovely talking with to the owner, Beth and her children. We felt right at home and relaxed very quickly and we had everything we needed. We really would like to return as soon as possible! It was a treat for the soul! Many thanks for sharing your home.

Sounds of the pigeons cooing and the waters in the beck babbling pervade the garden space surrounding this peaceful house. The accommodation suited us very well as we were a big family group who needed room that allowed us to play family games and cook and eat all together. It was well located being near to the coastal paths, beaches and Cardigan itself.

A fabulous home, so wish we could've stayed longer. Spotless, everything we needed, a beautiful house and garden. Loved the nooks and crannies in the garden and the sound of the stream. So peaceful. In the middle of beautiful countryside and only a few miles from some fabulous coastline and beaches. - Beth

This is the perfect Family house for a stay in the area, Kids will love the lovely decorated rooms and the garden with a little stream, we counted a maximum of 4 cars a day on the road, very quiet! The house is better than described, note the Piano!, thousands of books! Fireplaces! Best beds we had in our stays in the UK ever! The owners live 100 Yards away and helped us whenever needed. - Sabine (Cologne)

We have just returned home after a wonderful 4 nights at Felin Fach. Within seconds of arriving we fell in love with this amazing cottage and enjoyed every moment of our stay. We spanned 8-80 years but all of us had a great time; the boys loved the field especially the rope swing and zip wire whilst the rest of us read books and drank fizz in the garden full of flowers. Bedrooms are large and the beds comfy; and the kitchen well equipped. Wild flower posies on the check-clothed tables were a nice touch. We saw woodpeckers, nuthatches and baby bluetits on the bird feeder outside the dining room window, and heard owls at night. The cottage is very remote - you definitely need a car - but really well placed for outstanding coastal walks at nearby Cemaes Head and Mwnt; with lovely beaches at Poppit Sands and Mwnt. We went dolphin watching from New Quay - lots to do, especially for wildlife lovers and walkers. Beth and Ben, the owners, are staying nearby and on hand to answer any questions or recommend places to visit. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our week at Felin Fach, the cottage is very cosy, the wild garden is great - our 8 year old daughter particularly loved the fab rope swings and visiting the chickens and ducks. Ben and Beth made us very welcome too. The surrounding area is great - St Dogmaels Tuesday food market is wonderful, the nearest beach, Ceibwr is pebbly and has a stream running jnto the sea that's perfect for damming, Poppit Sands beach is fab, the whole area has a great rural, laidback feel and there are some fabulous places to eat including Llys Meddyg in Newport and the Pizza Tipi in Cardigan.

Our stay at Felin Fach was brilliant. The cottage is lovely, located in a beautiful, peaceful spot and the garden is also great, quite wild and lush. There are fantastic beaches nearby, Mwnt was a highlight for us. Many thanks, the McMenemys, Dixons and Monaghans.

We've had a wonderful 3 days way. This cottage is the perfect place to relax! We came away for a respite from a home renovation project of our own and had the added benefit of being inspired by the interior design too! There a a number of special walks to Cardigan literally out of the door - woods, streams, fields and big skies!

- David C,

What a wonderful holiday! Perfect location with wonderful garden - especially for treasure hunts! The children loved it as much as the adults. Well stocked kitchen, comfy beds and no television - bliss. Lovely places to visit nearby - Mwnt beach, Poppit Sands and Cardigan Farm Park were the biggest hits with everyone! An away from it all retreat - highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time staying in this cottage. The cottage was beautifully presented, and in a lovely tranquil rural setting. Our children loved the garden, and spent ours on the trampoline and rope swings. It was truly idyllic. We felt happy, relaxed and would love to go again!

Felin Fach is a magical place and we felt very much at home during our stay. We loved watching the birds feeding from the kitchen window - seeing a woodpecker so close up was a real treat and finding a lizard in the garden was another highlight. It was lovely to be so tucked away from it all yet have so much on our doorstep. The house had plenty of space for the seven of us and we had everything that we needed for our stay. We will definitely be back again!
