about the property

One of the greenest holiday cottages in Wales, this traditional Welsh holiday cottage for the family near Lampeter in Ceredigion/ Cardigan Bay is near to New Quay and Cei Bach beaches and has huge open views over the Teifi Valley.

Ffosffald Isaf is a modern 'green' conversion of a traditional West Wales farmhouse in a secluded location with fantastic views across the famous Teifi valley. Easy enough to get to the coast and beaches or exlore many lovely small market towns inland.

Click here to see real, unedited guest photos. Privately located down its own track, and with access over 180 acres of private pasture (and many miles more of public footpath), Ffosffald is a wonderfully peaceful place to stay. Built in 1903, this stone cottage farmhouse is clean, bright and modern inside and the ground-source heat-pump provides 'green' heating 24 hours a day. Just 20 minute drive to fabulous coastline and beaches. Just a few fields away from Rhiwson farmhouse (walkable) if you have a larger group.

Beautiful, comfortable and cosy cottage in a peaceful setting. Thank you very much for the prosecco - it was very much appreciated and we enjoyed it whilst taking in the gorgeous view. We had a great time exploring the local coastline and were very lucky with the weather. We will definitely return.

Such a cosy and comfortable cottage. We were made so welcome with Christmas tree and goodies. The view from the cottage is sensational and particularly stunning as the sunrises. The whole area is magical in winter we all were charmed by Ceredigion.

A super break away in the really warm and cosy farmhouse. Very peaceful, only the sound of sheep and the wind in the trees. The stars were fantastic, no light pollution. Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone.

Just returned from a fabulous few days with the extended family at Ffosffald Isaf. The house was warm and comfortable and had everything we needed. Loved the views and although we didn't really want to leave the house, we had some lovely days out at the nearby beaches.

Just what the doctor would have ordered Peace and tranquillity The views are amazing. We are used to stunning views living in wales but this was fantastic. It begins the minute your through the avenue of beech trees. The cottage had everything you needed and more. Will definitely visit again Try the long and boggy walk rounds Teifi pools. Look out for the wet ground tho. Diolch yn fawr

Another lovely UTT cottage. We have lost count how many we have visited and have never been disappointed but this one had the best view from the living room - stunning. Not to ignore the beautiful, well appointed cottage in a great location ... but the view gave it that edge.

We've just returned from the most amazing week at Ffosffald Isaf. It's a beautiful house, with everything you need and with breathtaking views - every time we looked out of the window it made us gasp! It's so peaceful and yet within easy reach of some lovely beaches. We don't often return to the same location (too many places to visit) but would love to come back here some day!

A lovely cottage in very peaceful surroundings. A great place to relax and enjoy this beautiful part of Wales. Plenty of beaches within a short drive with dolphin watching at New Quay. Looking forward to another stay here soon.

We had an amazing week at this lovely cottage which was just the right mix of practicality and charm. Wonderful location, plenty of beaches and towns to visit within 40 minutes drive. Amazingly peaceful and the freedom to use so much outdoor space with such a beautiful view it suited us all. We were blessed with wonderful weather which was the icing on the cake!

Lovely peaceful stay at this beautiful cottage. Views are amazing and wonderful to wake up to every morning. It is isolated but quite close to pretty coastal towns, we saw dolphins at New Quay! This cottage is highly recommended and we hope to return.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is lovely - warm and comfortable with superb views. It's on our list for a return visit, because we love the area. We were lucky to visit when the fields were full of lambs!

What a wonderful, peaceful, perfectly located cottage! So much to see all within a short drive. Such a cosy cottage to come home to after a day outside. The view was spectacular and using the outdoor fire pit at night to sit under the stars was great! Will definitely be returning to this cottage!

We had a lovely long weekend at ffosffald isaf, gorgeous views and a large enclosed garden that our dog Alfie enjoyed running round. Lots of nice little villages to visit locally and not too far from the coast. We would love to return one day.

We had a lovely stay at Ffosffald Isaf. The house was very comfortable and warm. The setting was extremely beautiful and peaceful with fabulous views wherever we looked. Our brown labrador made himself at home and enjoyed exploring the garden and surrounding area. Just what we look for in a holiday home

We had a very enjoyable stay at this beautiful cottage. It is finished to a high standard. The owners made us feel very welcome and did respond to us promptly when we had a problem. The cottage is very peaceful and we were able to unwind from our busy lifestyle. The farmer and his wife were also very friendly. I would and have recommended this cottage to others.

This is our fifth UTT holiday - but this time we brought along my sister, niece and their dog(!). We enjoyed showing them around a part of Wales that we love and Ffosffald Isaf was a perfect base to explore from. The cottage met our expectations and was very comfortable with a great garden to enjoy the views. Extremely peaceful - we thoroughly enjoyed - especially the Gorsgoch agricultural show as recommended by Daniel. Would be happy to visit again (or might try the sister property next time?). Lovely cottage in a wonderfully peaceful location (the view from the garden needs to be seen to be believed!). Nicely furnished and well equipped. Good position to explore Ceredigion (although you will need to drive for c.30 minutes to get to the beaches along the coast). We were sad to leave after a thoroughly enjoyable week.

Excellent cottage, fully equipped and beautiful views of fields and sheep. Especially liked the garden where the dog was free to roam as no road nearby. Good proximity to beach at New Quay and Llangranog. Would highly recommend.

"This is our third stay in an Under the Thatch house and by far the best. Absolutely stunning home and location. Views are incredible and even when it rained we were lovely and cosy by the fire. Thanks for the wine and chocolates. We'll be back later in the year." Delyth & Dexter
