Pen Cae Newydd

about the property

Beautiful Llyn Peninsula (some say ‘Lleyn’) for your perfect North Wales holiday. Visit the castle and amazing local beaches. Great quality interior, views and furnishings that make this a special place for your Llyn holiday.

Pen Cae Newydd is a large characterful longhouse cottage that has been carefully and sympathetically restored, and offers the perfect Llyn retreat with easy access to both North and South coast beaches and castles within 15 minutes (only 8 minutes to the nearest sandy beach). The perfect location for exploring one of the most beautiful parts of the UK and the Snowdonia National Park - if you've never been then you'll fall in love with this fabulous peninsula.

Situated high above the River Erce on an old fort, Pen Cae Newydd occupies a elevated sheltered setting facing south to the coastline of Cardigan Bay. The surrounding garden is bordered by field walls, beyond below there is a clear river (Erce) in which there is trout fishing, sheep grazing and undulating pasture.

There is excellent walking, bird-watching in the immediate area easy access to the sandy beaches and rocky inlets of the Llyn Peninsula, the towns Pwllheli and Porthmadog are all within easy driving distance. The cottage sleeps seven but if your party is larger also book Yr Hen Granar next door that sleeps a further four.

customer reviews for Pen Cae Newydd

We had a wonderful week. The sun shined and we hopped from beautiful beach to beautiful beach - the kids were in the sea every day, and we even persuaded them to walk some of the amazing coastal path. The cottage is great, perhaps not quite as special as other UTT properties we have stayed in but with comfortable beds, a friendly owner and a good location there is a lot to recommend it!

A lovely cottage set in tranquil countryside. The position is very central to reach either coast of the beautiful Llyn peninsular. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable. A particular plus was the spacious sitting room with doors onto a large, lawned garden. Perfect to return to after an exhausting day walking the coastal path.
