NEW! Rock Cottage

about the property

Traditional cottage for 4 guests with views over the Wye Valley

This pretty old lime workers cottage sits high up on the side of a hill with fantastic views overlooking the picturesque village of  Fownhope and church - It sits in its own ½ acre grounds of garden and cider orchard with far reaching views overlooking the village, River Wye and across to Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Rock Cottage has recently been restored using traditional methods and as much reclaimed materials as possible, the interiors are a stylish mix of traditional furnishing with French linens and textiles to soften the look and overall has a contemporary edge.

The cottage is an ideal location for walkers as its sits beside the Wye Valley Walk. Wild life enthusiasts won't be disappointed either as it sits in the middle of 6 acres of common land, which has been listed as SSSI. (Site of Special Scientific Interest). There is an array of natural species - rare moths, Butterflies, wild grasses, orchids, birds and deer are daily visitors.

The beautiful River Wye is within walking distance and canoeing is available only 2 miles away. The village is just 10 mins walk down the hill and boasts a well stocked shop, fantastic butchers and two pubs.

Sit on the bench, breathe, relax and take in the views!

customer reviews for NEW! Rock Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay. Lovely cottage. We ate and played games in the kitchen by the wood burner and retired to the lounge afterwards in front of the fire! Loved the walking from the door and local towns and green man pub was good too!

A lovely stay in a 'out of a magazine' style cottage. Deer were spotted in the adjacent wood and the bird life was a bird spotters dream! Good walks nearby with handy local pubs! The nearest town Ledbury one of the best for independent shopping, eating and browsing. Lots to see and do in the area but to be honest staying in for the day with a good book by the fire was no chore in Rock Cottage. One of the best UTT. Jules and Frank
