Llangrannog, Cardigan Bay (short walk to beach)
A traditional Romany caravan gypsy holiday caravan with a converted stone barn for modern conveniences. It sits in a field overlooking Cardigan Bay and you can walk down through your own land to a private sandy cove.
"the perfect romantic hideaway...there is a 'secret cove' and the area is a delight for dolphin and seal watching" The Daily Mail selecting our caravan as one of the best places in the world for a Honeymoon!
A traditional, restored bow-top caravan and barn in its own field overlooking Cardigan Bay. This sweet caravan is perfect for romance and for families whose kids can't be dragged off the beach. Situated at the end of a quiet lane on a working farm, with stunning views of the beautiful rolling Ceredigion coastline and pathways it is a truly romantic, idyllic place to stay. Walk down through the fields to a 'secret' cove and beach that are virtually never occupied. It's a bit of a scramble down the rocks but worth it to get your 'own' private sandy beach!
This unspoiled area is little touched by tourism, you have walking and cycling directly on your doorstep. The Ceredigion Coastal path and above a wooded valley - with all of its incredible flora and fauna and with the opportunity to spot dolphin and seals from the local beaches, which are just five minutes' walk away. Being so close to nature and the wildlife you cannot help but feel a genuine sense of peace and relaxation here within your own very special private paradise. See inside this gypsy caravan.
Privately located with your own kitchen, bathroom, sitting and dining area with a comfy double bed settee in the adjacent converted little barn, this is the ultimate romantic gypsy caravan holiday. Read this guest blog to see what your holiday might be like!

Loved this holiday. The gipsy caravan was adorable, little barn was small but perfectly formed with a neat little kitchen, capacious oven, all the crockery and cutlery you could need, and a great wet-room and toilet facilities. Plenty of handy booklets and information on local walks, and no need to use a car once you were there. There truly was great walking right from the doorstep. Mandy the hostess, was very helpful and friendly; and despite all the holiday accommodation being set quite near each other (there was a boat on top of a hill!, a yurt, and various other little barns and a B&B), there was never a feeling of being over-crowded, and in fact it felt very remote. Caravan was beautiful, and very comfortable. Electric blanket was much needed on a chilly night, and very cosy. Make sure you wander out in the middle of the night, as the dark skies are fabulous. Scramble to secret beach defeated me, but made it to Penbryn, and Llangrannog (by a circuitous route). Will definitely be back. Loved it.
We had a wonderful time, the beach is only a short steep stroll away and we walked to Aberporth in one direction and Llangrannog in the other on the coastal path. Lovely not to need a car. The caravan was cozy and the barn had all we needed. Saw dolphins from the cliff and also from the beach. All in all wonderful restful time.
A superb relaxing break. Our host Mandy was lovely and the accommodation was spotless and warm. So much to see and do in this area of natural beauty - we couldn't fault this holiday. Tracy and Tom
We had a fantastic time at the caravan. Mandy the owner was lovely and very accommodating. It's a beautiful setting and close to lots of places to explore in the area. The beach was a bit of a scramble but definitely worth it. We'd love to stay here again. Vikki & Paul
Had a lovely stay in the gypsy caravan. Very cosy and the thunderstorm on one of the nights added to the experience. Facilities in the barn were adequate, with a powerful shower. Lovely peaceful part of the world with great views of the sea.
We had a wonderful holiday in the gypsy caravan. The caravan itself was cosy and romantic; the kitchen/living room/bathroom were comfortable and well appointed. The surrounding area is idyllic, with beautiful coastal walks - left to Penbryn, with it's gorgeous sandy beach, down the valley to the secret beach (harder going!) and right, to Llangranog - a totally charming village with great food, pubs and cafes. We shall be going again!
We had a wonderful 4 night stay at The Gypsy Caravan. The location is perfect with direct access to the Coastal Path. We had a couple of lovely evening walks to the secret beach (we took the option that involved scrambling down the rocks near the bottom which added to the adventure). We also walked to the lovely beach at Penryn. Our nature mad 11 year old loved watching bats and listening to the owls from his bed in the Gyspy caravan . A great plus was how affordable (even in the school Spring half term holiday) this stay was. A great option if on a budget and Mandy the owner was lovely! Also a great base for exploring the area - we had lovely days out in New Quay and Aberaeron. Thankyou!
Thank you for an amazing stay in a beautiful part of the country. We loved the quirky caravan and enjoyed toasting ourselves (and some food) on the open fire. The use of a converted barn was ideal for cooking and relaxing in comfort on the more blustery Spring evenings. We loved exploring the magnificent coastline right from the doorstep along the (well signposted) Wales Coastal path and visiting the fishing villages dotting the coast from Aberporth up to Aberaeron. Llangrannog's award winning ice cream from the dog friendly Patio café is delicious. The Hive's fishmonger in Aberaeron is also well worth a visit (BBQ'd freshly caught sea bass-yum). Great honey ice cream too. Overall, this was a fantastic trip, we really enjoyed it! Highly recommended!
It was definitely a week full of new experiences for us - from sleeping in the gypsy caravan all warm and snug...to sleeping in the caravan with the wind howling outside and you feel like being in the caravan as though you are on a boat! From climbing down the path to the secret cove with the wind howling around our ears wrapped in multiple layers of jackets and scarves .. to going down to the secret cove again in a perfect blue sky day with our BBQ gear (grilling Welsh lamb steaks and baking breadsticks on open fire!). But whilst you are admiring the wonders of the beautiful secret cove with waterfall, caves, BBQ etc, do remember to watch out for tides running in and biy, do they come in really fast! Total silence at night that you fear your sneeze would wake the animals! Absolutely pitch black darkness that you either need to have super night owl eyes or a torch all the time... do remember to lie down on the fields at night, and just stare up the millions of stars at night. And thanks to absolutely no wifi and phone reception, we pretty much finished about 8 novels between the 2 of us in 7 nights stay! we had a very adventurous car journey in Mandy's little car (2 of us in one front passenger seat!) to get some groceries and later exchanged stories over a bottle of wine, complimentary of Mandy - she is a lovely host! And as you walk in the fields overseeing the sea and cliffs - you simply cannot escape the surreal feeling that you think you should be in a highlander movie, or with the familiar soundtrack of The Sound of Music in your head...And of course, we have fallen in love with our wellies, as without them, we would have gotten too close and personal with the mud and more! It was a rejuvenating week of going back to basics - go for it!
A wonderful way to see in the New Year! We were snug as bugs in rugs throughout, and you really do have the myriad of coastal paths at your finger tips. I'm not sure why this is listed as budget as despite the very reasonable price all the facilities are first rate. Llangrannog and Tresaith offer welcoming and dog friendly pubs and the dark skies provide beautiful star gazing opportunities. The hidden beach is a real gem - though our dog found it much easier to access than we did! We hope to return very soon :-)
Fantastic holiday in a beautiful location, thanks Mandy for a great stay.
I was more than happy with our experience. total value for money fantastic location, accommodation was perfect. plenty to do around the area. There was no wifi or 3G an most of the time no phone signal which was perfect for me but some may find that an inconvenience, might be worth a mention on the advert. I honestly couldn't fault our stay. Thank you
