Tŷ Traeth Llangrannog

about the property

Sweet traditional Welsh family holiday cottage at Llangrannog beach, with parking, yet just yards from the golden sands. Traditional character and a stylish interior and the kids can just run off down the beach by themselves.

Tŷ Traeth is a charming seaside stone cottage, just a minute's walk from the glorious beach of Llangrannog on the West Wales coast. Llangrannog has a sheltered sandy beach known as 'Traeth y Pentref' (the village beach). At low tide it is possible to walk around the rocks to the hidden sandy cove of Cilborth (also accessible by the amazing Ceredigion coastal path which is not affected by the tides). Now you can bring your dog, walk the beaches and coastal path with them..after all they deserve a holiday too!

Situated halfway between the market town of Cardigan and the Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron. You are ideally located to explore the rugged Ceridigion coast and lovely beaches of Llangrannog, surfing, kayaking or for the less adventurous a picnic on the beach which is all only a short stroll away. You are near the heart of Llangrannog, a sleepy coastal village, where you can simply relax and watch the sunset from the excellent cafes and pubs which include an award winning pub/restaurant, a beach cafe (with delicious home made ice cream as recommended by Rick Stein) and a small traditional pub that serves fresh sea food straight from Cardigan Bay.

The cottage interiors reflect a cool contemporary style and all of the rooms have a lovely spacious, fresh and airy feel. All the windows have shutters, perfect for cosy nights in snuggled next to the log-burner in Winter months. More photos on our facebook page or an independent 5* review here.

customer reviews for Tŷ Traeth Llangrannog

We enjoyed a lovely few days by the sea in Llangrannog. The cost walks are spectacular and the cottage with its wood burning stove was wonderful to return to after a day of sea air. Ty Traeth is very nicely decorated and the beds we found to be very comfortable. Llangrannog is a lively little seaside village and we had a fantastic meal at the pub on the front. I'm sure we will be back.

We had a lovely week at Ty Traeth; our first trip to West Wales and Llangrannog but definitely not our last. The cottage is tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. Being so close to the beach, pubs and restaurants was a definite plus as was having a car space outside the cottage. We walked in both directions along the coastal path and enjoyed a dolphin spotting boat trip from New Quay . The scenery is stunning.

Fabulous cottage a short walk from the beach. A light on and welcome tray we're really nice touches. We were lucky with the weather and we're able to spend the day on the beach and the night in front of the log burner. Comfy sofas and beds, fabulous shower and everything you need in the kitchen. Really handy to have a parking space outside, we have a quite a large car and managed to tuck it in with plenty of room for cars to pass. Llangrannog itself is a great base, nice beach, we sat watching the waves at The Pentre Arms while the kids played on the beach. A fantastic way to spend the bank holiday weekend!

Very well appointed cottage in beautiful Llangrannog. The cottage had everything that we needed and was very comfortable. Modern kitchen was lovely with large fridge freezer and all mod cons. All windows are fitted with interior wooden shutters to keep things cosy while you sit by the lovely log burning stove. Modern bathroom with traditional roll top bath and effective overhead shower. Literally a stones throw from The Ship Inn and a two minute walk to the beach. Two pubs, a corner shop, a beachfront cafe and a fish and chip shop in the village what more could you want! Convenient parking space in front of the cottage although small was adequate. Enjoyed lovely beach and clifftop walks. Llangrannog is a beautiful unspoilt village, one of my favourite places complete with a small sandy beach. We especially enjoyed the impromptu wood fired pizza served up outside The Ship Inn on Sunday evening with a bottle of red wine!

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Great walks, lovely pubs, and right by the sea! The owners made us feel very welcome with various treats (we arrived on Valentines day), and the property itself is wonderful.

A long weekend spent in Llangranog made all the more special and enjoyable while staying in this fabulous house. Very warm and cosy and superbly appointed. We couldn't have wished for a nicer place to stay.

We had a wonderful long weekend. We are a family of 4 (1 yr and 3yr old boys). The 2 bedrooms are spacious and the living areas downstairs have plenty of room for two boisterous boys. Everything was spotlessly clean, really nicely decorated and had everything you need. The best part though was the location. It so close to the little beach you could walk barefoot back to the cottage. We also managed to go on the coastal walk (just a short one with two toddlers) and had a picnic on the dramatic but bit of land that juts out from the coast. There was a shop and a few places to eat so had everything you need. The little fenicular train in Aberystwyth was a hit with the boys and the view was amazing. We were concerned about not being able to fit in parking space because if a review, but had no issues. Its just a drawn line outside cottage so as long as there's plenty of room for cars to pass it wasn't an issue. The only negative for the whole holiday, which wasn't anything to do with the cottage, was that I wasn't particularly impressed with the closest pub to the cottage (for food only). But holiday was amazing definitely want to return.

What a lovely little cottage, great spot - can't fault it. We are regulars to Llangranog and its a great place for kids and adults. Everyone is friendly and doubt there is many places such as this in UK that has so much in such a small area. Highly recommended.

We have just had a fabulous week in this wonderful cottage right near the sea. When the weather was stormy (days 1 and 2) it was super snug inside and we still managed a walk or two on the beach. Our 9 year old loved every minute and went in the sea every day when the weather was fine, which was most days! Just parked up our car and forget it for the week! Shop good for bits and bobs for home meals, Beach Hut a hit for meals out.

The best cottage we've stayed in. Lovely and spacious. Well equipped. The location was amazing. Literally 3 doors away from the sea. We loved going to the beach at about 7 o'clock when everyone had gone home and waiting for the sunset. Absolutely beautiful place. Our third and definitely not our last holiday with UTT.

What a fabulous cottage! This is a real gem - I don't think the photos do it justice. We stayed for four days over New Year and it was perfect for us. The lovely owners also left us a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate with! It is tastefully decorated but warm and comfy throughout. The bath is great, really deep. The kitchen is well equipped (plenty of pans etc and a cafetiere. The location is good - so close to the beach and coastal paths. Thanks for a great trip!

We had a lovely stay at Ty Traeth. The cottage is well equipped and very cosy - despite howling winds the log burner kept us very warm. The cottage is literally a stone's throw from the beach and both pubs in the village were nice.

We had a lovely relaxing family holiday, really close to the sea, hardly used the car. A perfect beach retreat, wished we could have stayed longer, cosy wood-burner for the more chilly eves, the beach was a hit with the family! Fantastic accommodation, well equipped and lots of peaceful nights sleep to the sounds of the crashing waves. Bliss!

A brilliant cottage in a brilliant location! Did not need to use the car at all. Pubs, village store, beach and coastal walks just 1 minute away. Décor and attention to detail in cottage was outstanding , everything worked and we had everything we needed. Hope to return soon. Many thanks,

A beautifully appointed cottage in a really lovely seaside village only yards from the beach. The coastal scenery is impressive as it is on the approx. 45 minute drive to Aberystwyth. Although only a small village it surprisingly had two pubs, two cafes and a general store. We can thoroughly recommend this cottage and location and may well visit again ourselves.

We had a great weekend at Ty Traeth, great position not far from the beach/cafe/pub and easily the cleanest property we have stayed at! (although our first UTT!) The cottage had everything we wanted, and great wheather was also provided along with the village music festival! Would highly recomend this property.

'Lovely seaside location with plenty of interest in the area. A lovely seaside location, we have been to this area many times but it was great to have a house so close to the beach. Everyone in the village was so friendly and the homemade ice-creams in the cafés is lovely'. Sally R

'Ty Traeth is a real treasure and highly recommended! The owners have done a fabulous job on this coastal village house just a stone's throw from the beach. Everything is top notch and brand new, the house was warm as toast, and a wonderful location for clifftop walks and to the beach on foot.' Martin S.
