customer reviews for Ty'r Gof

This was the ideal cosy getaway after Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning

- Kate W,

We have had a fantastic time at Ty'r Gof. The cottage is lovely and once the fire is burning, incredibly cosy. The location is great; we explored the area and got to some lovely beaches and costal walks. There is also a very good butcher in Rhydlewis and we will be taking some lamb back home with us!

The cottage does not disappoint, cosy, comfortable yet stylish. After a lovely day out walking it was nice to come back to, light a fire, watch the red kites circling above and enjoy the starry skies when it dropped dark. Would definitely recommend the cottage and the area.

Thank you for a lovely stay at Ty'r Gof. Beautiful cottage with everything you need neatly arranged in a relatively cosy space! We loved the comfy sofas and log burner, it was so relaxing coming back to the cottage after a day spent exploring the area. Lovely to see so many original features retained in the building without compromising on comfort. Diolch am benwythnos hyfryd.

Step into Ty'r Gof and step back into a slower more tranquil time. The cottage is interesting and quaint, and the sound effects of a bubbling brook and birdsong make this a very special place.

Such a simple yet cosy cottage. The cottage was so warm and relaxing my wife and I didn't want to venture far, but there were plenty of places worth visiting. Llangranog and the costal path for one. The Wi fi was a bonus for keeping up to date with the world.

The perfect cottage to spend a relaxing holiday away from hustle and bustle. We loved the fire and the cosy atmosphere, Ty'r Gof has everything you need - comfy sofas, warm bed, hot shower and good cooking equipment. The location is beautiful and well positioned for visiting the coast and towns. We loved staying here and would definitely come back again. Thank you.

We needed to get away from it all and Ty'r Gof was the perfect recipe. We had an amazing holiday. We spent lots of time curled up in front of the fire, but there were plenty of places to explore by day as well. The cottage itself is perfect. Thank you.

Had a lovely few days in the cottage. Loved the warm welcome on arrival and we had everything we needed. The cottage is so charming and full of character. There is so much to do in the local area, especially for walkers/hikers, and the coast is superb. Thanks for a lovely stay.

What an amazing little cottage, small and compact with a lovely mix of oddities. Basic but very comfortable, the log burner really does its job and the kitchen has just enough stuff to cook a variety of meals. Loads of things to do in the area. Thanks for a wonderful mini break.

We loved this charismatic little cottage, restored with skill and love and very comfortable for 2 and a dog. We were greeted with sweet peas, Welsh cakes and newly laid eggs and in no time at all it felt like home. An ideal base for a week's holiday, the area was new to us, long coast path walks, picnics on secluded sandy beaches (forget swimming without a wet-suit!), miles of empty country lanes.

My second visit even better than the first. So snug in the winter and airy in the summer. Appreciated the eggs, Welsh cakes and sweet peas welcoming me to this idiosyncratic, well equipped and well thought out cottage where I felt very at home. Incredibly comfortable bed. Weather was perfect for swimming at Llangrannog, Mwnt and Penbryn. Stars and meteor shower spectacular on Penbryn beach. Self catered this time but good places to eat out all around. Lots of information in visitors book/leaflets about interesting places to visit but I especially enjoyed a return to Dyffryn Fernant Gardens near Fishguard (Stop off for lunch at the Kitchen Garden restaurant in Newport). Well signposted walks everywhere and if the weather is inclement there are friendly towns like Newcastle Emlyn that are well worth a visit as is Jo Finch's pottery above Aberporth.. Didn't have time for the very worthwhile boat trip from Newquay this time but saw seals at Cymtydu, at dusk, Ty'r Gof is so well placed to explore this whole area but it also encourages you to visit the farm shop at nearby Sarnau , spend time cooking good food and eating it, reading, listening to the radio and just slowing down. Wonderful!

A wonderful stay in a beautiful little cottage- wish we could have stayed longer.

Great little cottage, exactly as advertised. Cosy in the evenings with the log fire roaring, and a bottle of wine on the go! Walked to Rhydlewis, drove to Llangrannog, Penbryn, New Quay and Newcastle-Emlyn, and got all the supplies of food and fuel we need from either the local post office or the garage just a couple of miles away. Well worth it... and thanks for the fresh eggs and Welsh cakes. Yum! P&S, and one very lazy Labrador.

We have just had another wonderful & very relaxing visit to Ty'r Gof. The weather was kind to us again but it wouldn't make any difference as there is always something to do. The cottage is perfect and caters to our needs perfectly. We enjoyed a lovely welcome on a rainy evening with welsh cakes (addictive), fresh eggs and a roaring fire. Thank you, we'll be back again soon.

The sun shone and the cottage was wonderful. It was very peaceful and we loved listening to the birdsong, including the owl at night. A very quirky unique stay.....and the dogs loved it too!

The radio was on and a welcoming fire lit - we felt we were coming home rather than just visiting. Once inside we found everything we could want for a pleasant stay and that was just as it turned out to be.

This venue was wonderful and consequently our short holiday was very enjoyable and successful. As with our previous experience of the organising company "Under The Thatch", everything was totally organised and the instructions were clear. The cottage is just hidden away from the road and is peaceful and secluded. The fire had been lit just prior to our arrival the whole property was wonderfully warm. There's only one bedroom up stairs in a quaint loft and by glow of the fire the wintry evenings were very special. There is no TV but you can listen to music, read, play games and talk. We bought lovely food from local producers and farm shops which we prepared in the small but well equipped kitchen and had a great time. There's no shortage of interesting places to visit in the vicinity and and if you plan your time well you'll return tired and happy to Ty'r Gof in the evening. We visited in the winter when it was cosy and romantic and I'm sure a stay at any other time of year would be equally idyllic. Highly recommended.

In a word - 'perfect'. In four words - 'perfect, very much so'. I could go on, but that would only spoil the surprise - enjoy!

A beautiful cottage, well equipped and in a great area for walking, cycling or visiting the beaches. We loved the decor, the wood burner was definitely a favourite and the kitchen facilities meant we had brilliant breakfasts which we ate outside, due to unseasonably glorious weather! Not to mention the Red Kites which soar overhead on a daily basis. Lovely and relaxing, just what we needed!
