about the property

Priced for up to 2 (sleeps 4). A contemporary barn conversion near Aberaeron, West Wales with country views.

A simple, modern converted detached barn just ten minutes inland from Aberaeron and near enough to the coast for easy access to lovely beaches like Cei Bach, New Quay, and Llangrannog.

The cowshed is one of our more basic properties, but it has an impressive dining/sitting room that opens out via bifold doors to an elevated deck overlooking the glorious West Wales countryside.

You can cycle or walk along the footpath from the National Trust's Llanerchaeron estate to Aberaeron following the Aeron river (4 miles, 1.5 hour walk). Just a 10-minute drive to lovely Aberaeron, one of the best preserved Georgian harbour towns in the UK, with lots of great food choices whether you'd like fine dining, honey-ice cream, or excellent fish and chips.

customer reviews for Beudy Aeron

What a magical place, from the drive down the road less travelled to the fairy lit trees over the road. The extraordinary dining/music/viewing room leading through to the lounge, which lives up to its name. We had a wonderful stay and are about to book again. Something we rarely do usually liking to try new places.

Beudy Aeron is idyllic. A very comfortable and well appointed house. We loved being able to walk from the front door but the best bit is sitting on the terrace in the glorious sunshine we have had this weekend.

- Annie S,

We had a lovely stay in this cottage. The whole place is beautifully done, great space and the garden was a big hit with our 2 little boys. Really well located for the beach and other attractions. Would definitely recommend.

- Amy H,

Beudy Aeron is a beautiful cottage just off the beaten track. Despite the cold and damp weather it was extremely warm and comfortable inside and the best night’s sleep I have had in a while. Our two children loved walking to the nearby waterfall and spotting birds from the terrace. A great setting and a cost way to spend half-term. Thank you.

- Sophie W,

We had a lovely stay at Beudy Aeron. The cottage is really cosy and well-equipped and spacious for a group of 4. We will definitely be recommending it to friends!

We had a great time at Beudy Aeron. Comphy bed, Beautiful area, great restaurants in Aberaeron. It was great to have some down time. Thankyou!!

- Rachel M,

Amazing place. The sun terrace has fantastic views over a wood and there are other hidden areas in the garden to explore. Walked to the waterfall which again was amazing. Very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in the property but only 10 mins from Aberaeron and the beach. Had a great Sunday lunch at The Harbour Master(highly recommended) and lovely riverside walk and great coffee and Barabrith at Llanerchaeron, which is a 5 min drive. Just a 20 minute drive and your in New Quay where we saw dolphins in the bay. We packed a lot into our short stay, but if you prefer just to relax and unwind then this is the place. Loved the record player and vinyl collection. Very well equipped kitchen and plenty of seating. A really great place with exceptional views and location!

This is a stunning place to stay, well equipped, felt very luxurious.

What a fantastic place! So peaceful and secluded with wonderful views across the valley with birds flying past. Very comfortable accommodation; the sun lounge and deck was our favourite spot! Well equipped kitchen too.

- Francesca H,

Absolutely stunning location (and very remote) and property was really excellent. Layout was great and enjoyed the firepit toasting marshmellows. Would highly recommend this property to friends.

- Christa M,

Beudy Aeron is a wonderful property and we had an amazing stay. The location is wonderful but having a living space as light and open as this in a rural location was just heavenly. The sunroom makes the property so special and we were happiest when drinking in the panoramic views. the contrast with the cosy tv lounge is most welcome too.

- Claudine johnson ,

We had a wonderful stay here. The accommodation is very relaxing and peaceful. We enjoyed the local beach, national trust property and local walks. We loved the outdoor space and the sun trap terrace. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

- Hannah H,

Dear owners of Beudy Aeron, wow was the reaction when we arrived! You have created a wonderful barn conversion and a special place to stay. Our favourite UTT spot, and one that we will turn to. The internal space is a delight to hunker down in, especially the sun room with vinyl playing, a lovely chessboard. The view from the bifolds is great and hope to return in the summer as well to enjoy the sun deck. Loved the living room and all the touches. Many many thanks from the Evans.

- Carlie E,

Amazing little place tucked away in a peaceful valley. Great even for a typically damp and drizzly Welsh winter weekend! Sun room is perfect for relaxing and taking in nature while protected from the elements.Fire, big telly for films, cozy beds, well equipped kitchen, gorgeous chess set, record player with great selection of records, waterfall nearby, we couldn’t have asked for more, and even our hard to please 7 and 9 year old boys loved it! Thank you…

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. What a stunning cottage and vista!! We thorough enjoyed relaxing in the cottage and then exploring the surrounds on foot and the beaches about 30mins away. Highly recommend this venue for a thoroughly relaxing break.

We absolutely loved this property- outstanding views, beautiful decor and amazing location. The property description is very accurate- you really can sit and watch red kites and buzzards every day from the terrace. We also were lucky enough to be there when the field next door had a beautiful foal and mother in it. It’s off the beaten track in all the right ways but 10 minutes to the seaside - bliss!

- Natalie S,
2021

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is well located near the lovely harbour town of Aberaeron and great beaches at Llangollen, Tresiath and Penbryn. The sun room and deck are the highlights of the house and we enjoyed watching the red kites from there. Unfortunately the garden is a little overgrown and as it was wet this prevented us enjoying it fully. We also enjoyed the visits from the friendly local dogs!

- Sarah P,

Fantastic holiday. Lovely private space with your own country side to explore. Not too far away from plenty of things to see and do. We hope to go back next year,

- Martin R,

We had the most wonderful time at Beudy Aeron. A real home from home. The sunroom and deck with stunning views were idyllic. We have stayed in many places over the years and this has to be one of our favourites.

- Marion W,

We had a lovely time at this beautiful cottage and would highly recommend. The cottage is set in the beautiful countryside with amazing views. It's so peaceful and quiet, you can spend an age just listening and watching the birds. The location is perfect quiet to relax but only about 10 minutes to Aberaeron and 15 minutes to Lampeter in the car. Inside the cottage they have a fully equipped kitchen with every utensil you could need. A lovely welcome basket with welsh cakes and snacks which is a lovely touch. They also have board games, cards, dominoes, Dvds etc. It really feels like a home from home. The log burner is brilliant and makes the living room so cozy and nice to see a decent size tele in a holiday let. The wow factor comes in the dining room with the bifolding doors onto the balcony Wow. We also loved the garden, so many little seating areas and a big fire pit which we used a couple of evenings. Our only suggestions would be that some kind of black out blinds are really needed for the bedroom, the light was streaming in at 7am. We found a blanket to put up over the curtains but it was still not ideal. Also the matress for the double bed is extremely hard (I've never been on one so hard), I know that's preference but maybe the option of a matress topper would be an idea. Since returning we have already recommended to many people and would certainly return.

A slice of heaven on the hillside. We enjoyed a few lovely sunny days at this cosy cottage. The gardens are very well enclosed and lovely and the sun deck is a great place to sit watching the red kites flying above.

- Anne anderson ,

Gorgeous property in a lovely setting. So much attention to detail inside- it had everything we needed. The owner was really helpful when we had an issue with the hot water system and everything got sorted out for us.We had a fantastic stay at Beudy Aeron and would love to come back in the future.

- Carys B,
2021

This was exactly the break we needed after a very tough year. Idyllic surroundings and total peace and relaxation - perfect! We loved watching the Red Kites and enjoyed the short walk from the garden to a pretty waterfall nearby. We had everything we needed at the cottage and loved the welcome hamper too! We definitely hope to return.

- Paula D,
2021

Beudy Aeron was the exact haven from the city that we hoped it would be. Waking up and enjoying a morning coffee in such peaceful and relaxing surroundings felt like the best way to start any day. We had great weather so spent most our time in the sun room and on the decking, but can imagine how cosy it would feel in winter too and being able to light the log burner. Fab location being surrounded by countryside, yet a short drive (or 35 min cycle) to Aberaeron and a wealth of other beaches and places to explore. We hope to be back!

- Paul K,
2020

Lovely, peaceful setting in beautiful surroundings. The cottage is well equipped and had everything we required to make it feel like a home-from-home. Plenty to do and see nearby - we only wish we could have stayed longer. We would definitely return.

Super cottage great location in tranquil setting

- Joanne M,

It's a beautiful place to stay. The views from the sunroom are amazing and it was a delight to watch the red kites and many other birds from there. The gardens look really interesting and had we been there at a warmer time of year I suspect we would have spent a lot of time in them.

- Anne G,
2019

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. The family room gave wonderful views over the valley opposite and we spent a lot of time enjoying the view and watching the Red Kites that floated in the sky around the cottage and in the valley. Perfect place to stay if you want to just relax and enjoy the Welsh countryside. Easy to get to Aberaeron by car or bike and enjoy the coast as well.

- Sarah lord ,

Fantastic property in a wonderful location, so many lovely places to visit nearby we didn't get to see them all!

- Nicola L,
2019

It's all about the view at Beudy Aeron. We were lucky with the weather and spent lots of time on the terrace.there are binoculars but maybe remind guests to bring their own too, in order to best appreciate the amazing bird life We loved the selection of vinyl , the fire pit and comfortable accommodation. The steps up to the front door are steep and high and the garden is steep too but, then you get those views ...

- Pamela V,

Loved this cottage, was fab for our family. The weather was awesome the week we were there and perfect for exploring the area.

- David R,

Wonderful, relaxing break. Weather was poor but not a problem as cottage was really comfortable and well equipped. Would be happy to recommend to family and friends.

- Patrick barker ,

We had a great stay at the cottage. fantastic terras and the whole front glas structure you can open. very cosy rooms. great garden ,although it could get some TLC. Nice neighbours, great neighbour dogs. Fantastic view and swallows, red kites and buzzards gliding over the landscape. Super peace and quiet but small towns nearby. This was our second stay in a UTT cottage and we are planning for next year already.

- Karina V,

Lovely house with wonderful views. A very relaxing break.

- Jake H,

Beautifull cottage in a peaceful location. Terrace offers great views of the valley.

- Dougal O,

Fantastic cottage with amazing views, photo don’t do it justice. I am sure we will be back

- Lucy B,
2018

What a great barn conversion. Beautiful views of the countryside from the extended deck, watching red kites soaring over head and across the fields. We had everything we needed, very comfortable accommodation, I’m sure it would be very cosy in the winter too. Gardens are great to wander through, exploring the different ‘rooms’, plus bbq and fire pit. Short drive to Aberaeron and New Quay both delightful. Great coastal walks. Overall everything we needed for a great short or long stay.

- Audrey B,
2018

We had a lovely stay at Beudy Aeron. The property is blessed with the most amazing view from the decked terrace and there’s plenty to explore in the area. Not difficult to get to thanks to clear directions in the arrival instructions. Facilities are good in the property and it is all on one level which makes life easier. Also befriended the neighbours little dogs who popped over to say hello when we arrived which was adorable. Hopefully will return later in the year.

- Cheryl H,

Absolutely loved this place, it's my favourite under the thatch house I've been to so far. It was cosy and warm with great views from the fabulous balcony windows we were visited every day by a lovely buzzard who sat on a telegraph pole at the bottom of the garden. Red kites flying by the window and goldcrests in a tree and a wonderful robin that came to eat the olives from the balcony trees. We made great use of the fire pit sat under twinkly skies listening to owls and drinking fizz whilst everything turned frosty around us. It felt like my house and I really didn't want to leave this lovely house.

- Amanda ganley ,

Great cottage with lovely terrace and views and good to have a garden. Easy to find. Enjoyed all the facilities and felt very comfortable and at home. Well situated for the coast (Aberaeron and New Quay). Also good woodland walks and Llanerchaeron (National Trust) nearby. We always like the Under the Thatch range of cottages. Thanks again.

After booking at very short notice (thank you UTT!) We had a wonderful few days at Aeron Cottage. The location is spectacular with gorgeous views across the terraced garden and valley from the deck. Everything about the cottage was of a high standard with lots of lovely finishing touches (I loved the Sonos player - might have to splash out on one of my own!) and it was a treat to have two living rooms to relax in after lovely days out at the nearby National Trust property Llanerchaeron, the pretty harbour town of Aberaeron and the beach at Llangrannog. We would have loved to stay longer to explore more of the coast, and I'm sure we will be back.

- Linda K,

Firstly thank you to a lady called Eleri was very attentive and sorted out a minor problem in no time. The cottage is a smashing place to stay and has a wonderful garden. We will be going back to Spain talking highly of our holiday experience and would definitely go back for another break to the same place, it was magical and the UTT support team gave us a spot on service.

- Claire D,
2017

The cottage has the most amazing views. We loved just relaxing on the balcony and enjoying the wonderful landscape. The accommodation has everything you need, the vinyl record player was a particular favourite. Comfy beds, pillows and so peaceful...we left feeling very chilled.

- Liz monckton ,

We visited Aeron Cottage which is a new availability with UTT. Fantastic peaceful environment with great views and ideal for a quiet getaway. The extension off the old barn tastefully designed and the retractable conservatory doors giving the cottage a great outlook. Great terraced cottage garden just below the property offering a multitude of colour and herbs. A property that we would like to visit again soon.
