The peaceful Rheidol valley runs from  Pontarfynach / Devil's Bridge down to the sea at Aberystwyth, and at the prettiest point you'll find a series of waterfalls. Approximately in the middle of the numerous stages of falls you'll find Penffrwd Fach - a brand new riverfront property built to a high standard, and with sustainability at its heart. Great for families (plenty of space for the kids and dogs), you'll be ideally placed for either beach or mountain adventures, watching the red kites that circle overhead. This is our only property near to Aberystwyth (in many ways the cultural capital of Wales), and you'll find plenty to do here in any weather.

Well equipped and comfortable cottage in a beautiful setting. It was very special to be able to sit in the garden and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Rheidol valley. Lots to do in the area. We enjoyed good pub food locally at Y Ffarmers and wonderful lunch (slightly further afield) at Yr Hen Printworks in Cardigan. Highly recommended!

Fantastic accommodation with everything you could need. A beautiful location, if peace and tranquility are what you are looking for, you will find it here!

This is a superb renovation/new build hybrid. The location is first rate and the building is finished to a very high standard. We enjoyed glorious weather, the walks around Cwm Rheidol and the quiet countryside vibe. Gazing at the native woodland clinging to the steep side of the valley and the sheep and horses grazing in the fields it is extraordinary to think the area was once a heart of a thriving mining industry - though the evidence is all around, and there's a book explaining it all!! A fascinating area and a great break. Diolch yn fawr iawn. Richard and Mandy

Superb property finished to a very high standard and as described. Comfortable and very well equipped. Situated in a peaceful valley with walks right from the door but with easy access to the coast and Aberystwyth. EV charger was a bonus and all arrangements and communications were clear and timely. Overall an excellent stay.

What an absolutely beautiful property. A delight to spend New Years Eve here. Pristine, well equipped, and with all of the storage that we could need (for us and two dogs), all the outside space we could wish for as well. A clever mix of old and new, with views from every window. Lots of wildlife to watch even on a chilly day. From Red Kites to little Wrens. Nestled in the Rheidol Valley with easy access to the Rheidol Falls, there are lots of options for walks. Looking forward to returning, and are planning a summer trip for 2027 to make the most of the outside space and the quiet of the little piece of heaven.

We have loved our week at Penffrwd Fach. Very comfortable house with stunning views up and down the Rheidol Valley. We’ve only used the car 3 times as so many beautiful paths and places to see in walking distance. We walked to Aberffrwd steam train stop as local one is up a very steep path & we missed the train! Good cardiac work out though. Also Magic of life butterfly house is worth a visit, again easy walk from the house. If you can tear yourself away from the valley highly recommend NT Hafod and the 2pm feeding on Red Kites at Bwlch Nant yr Arian. We were also blessed with excellent weather so all in all a perfect week.

We loved Penffrwd Fach, great location and beautifully appointed cottage. The bathroom was fabulous with the walk in shower and huge bath, with lots of hot water to soak in. Kitchen had everything we needed too, which is rarely the case. Thank you for looking after this little gem do well.

What a wonderful location, so tranquil and idyllic. The house is beautifully designed and well equipped. A perfect place to relax and unwind. Great for walking and running from the door and for spotting red kites and herons. Will definitely return! Highly recommended.
