Built around 1780, Banc-y-Felin cottage is a super spot for two, ideally located to explore the best of Carmarthenshire ('The Garden of Wales'), with easy access to the coast and the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons).
Everything here is well proportioned - one large lounge, one large bedroom, and a third of an acre of garden with a choice of outdoor dining. Lauren and Scott have done a lovely job renovating the place - they live just 5 minutes away and run Wales' most popular independent coffee roasters, Coaltown.
Our favourite Welsh castle (Carreg Cennen) is under 5 miles away, as is Llandeilo, considered one of the loveliest towns in Wales. It sits on a very quiet dead-end lane, just a couple of fields away from Glynhir golf course (with bar and food, takeaway available and known for its Sunday roasts). Hike Tair Carn Isaf or Llygaid Llwychwr, or wander through Dinefwr Park, Golden Grove, Aberglasney Gardens and the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
If you want to get to the beach, the Gower Peninsula, Millennium Coastal Path, Pembrokeshire Coastline, and Ceredigion are all within easy reach for a day trip.

The Banc y Felin cottage was exactly what we needed for our two night break. Very clean and had everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Luckily not there longer with the Rayburn for cooking as it would have been really hot with the weather we had. Having the air fryer and induction plates was really helpful! A shame that the garden wasn’t totally secure for a dog but we did know this in advance. The grounds had been mowed but felt a little neglected otherwise not helped by the weather no doubt. A door on one of the kitchen cupboards was broken and felt as though it could have come off at any point but other than that it was all fine. Having a shelf in the shower would have been useful. We would stay there again particularly in the winter when it would be super cosy! We are from the area so didn’t have to explore just visit family and enjoy the Welsh countryside. Blissfully quiet with just birdsong to listen to.

Banc y Felin was a lovely cottage. Easy access and parking. Were both impressed by the kitchen and the facilities. The lolfa/sitting room was large with a good TV and a woodburner. Upstairs was a sizable bedroom with a really comfy bed and particularly comfortable pillows and next door was the bathroom which had an amazing shower. The décor was nicely thought through and had an industrial theme. The garden is a good size with several places to sit and the comforting sounds of birds. We will be happy to return for another stay. We had the most amazing time in this gorgeous cottage! The owners were super friendly and responsive when we had questions, which we really appreciated. The cottage is cosy, clean, beautiful and very well set up for a truly relaxing holiday. We especially loved the little touches for our doggie, with some yummy doggie treats and a beautiful big doggie mattress welcoming him. The coffee machine and superb coffee was a brilliant treat. The bedroom is spacious with a great mattress and comfy pillows. Stunning bathroom with really great towels. We loved every bit of our time here and would love to come back! Thank you again.

Lovely cottage. Comfortable and well equiped. Lovely having the Rayburn. Beautifully decorated and presented. Also the cottage decorated for xmas was a lovely touch. Have stayed in cottages before, at this time of year where this hasn't been the case. A vacuum cleaner would be a useful addition. I like to leave the cottage as I find it, especially because we hholiday with our dogs.
