Fantastic stay in a remarkably well converted former mill which was a pleasure to spend time in and around. The highlight was having an afternoon cup of tea in the garden with swallows swooping around us and wagtails hopping around the stream. Thank you!

Lovely & spacious & stylish barn/cottage. The photos do not do it full justice … such a brilliant space. Loved the giant wood burner & the under floor heating. The dogs were very happy. We’ll be back.

We could not recommend Under the Thatch more and the amazing staff. This collection of houses in Trehilyn feel like a village. The surrounding grounds have an orchard, wooded pathways and two small lakes. Each house has been created with such care and attention to authenticity relevant to that particular property. It has felt to my family like a magical find and we will return again and again. We have already booked our next holiday.

Melin Trehilyn is a lovely cottage. The mill conversion is fantastic, the decor is tasteful (great to see the original art in the property - and good to hear, when we were in an art gallery in Fishguard that some of this was bought locally) and it was perfect to sit outside with the bubbling brook and views across the hills. We enjoyed visits to Strumble Head, just a few minutes away by car, where we saw seals in the bay. Thoroughly enjoyed our time at the property and would definitely look to return in the future.

We fell in love with the old mill and its wonderful interior and arts objects immediately. We felt very much at home there and would have loved to stay longer, also because of the wonderful surroundings (Fawr Garn, coastal path, Fishguard...). Everything worked fine during our stay. The only thing to criticise: the cottage was not perfectly clean when we arrived, in particular some of the windows were very dirty, and some of the dishes and glasses as well (not the fault of the cleaners, but of the parties renting the cottage before us).

Warm, extremely comfortable and very well provisioned. We loved the contemporary interior design and the spacious garden. The farm walks were a real plus for exercising the dogs at the beginning and end of each day. Great sunsets with the babbling stream as soundtrack.
