about the property

Priced for 4 staying, sleeps 7. Stylish, spacious new holiday home overlooking Lough Mask County Mayo, Ireland

Perched above Lough Mask this stylish, spacious home has sensational views from every angle. It's a really great location on the County Mayo/ County Galway border with easy access to the best of both counties. Take a cruise on nearby Killary Fjord, beaches that look like the Bahamas (west Mayo), head down into Connemara or North to Westport (one of Ireland's nicest towns), South to attractive Cong (where they filmed 'The Quiet Man' film) etc. You've got a modern, comfortable home in a rural lake valley, within walking distance of good food and drink and within an hour of several of the most iconic landscapes in Ireland.

If you’re looking for rejuvenation and inspiration, this luxurious 3 bedroom holiday home promises an unforgettable escape. There are hiking and cycling trails, wild trout fishing and water sports on the doorstep. It’s also only a ten-minute walk to a friendly pub/restaurant.

The lack of light pollution makes the area ideal for stargazing. On clear nights you’ll find the sky full of stars. If you’re visiting around August, go for a late walk and see the amazing Perseids meteor shower with up to 100 shooting stars an hour. From November - February you may also be lucky enough to see the spectacular lights of the Aurora Borealis.

We had a fantastic holiday at Lough Mask! The property is beautiful. It is immaculately maintained with gorgeous views and it was a real treat to stay there.

We've just returned from the most wonderful week at Lough Mask, and I can safely say its the best stay we've had in Ireland. The property is in an amazing location. Views over the lough which is 10mins walk away, which we safely swam in. 15 mins drive to Tourmakeady falls and woods and also Lough NaFooey and Joyce County Sheepdogs all of which we highly recommend. There's a lovely little sloped grass area and outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine and views, we were visited by some lovely birds in the hedges and a little hare hopped by on a few occasions. The property itself is out if this world, so much space! We are a family of four with two older boys and there was plenty of room for us all to find a quiet space if needed. The kitchen is stunning, and well kitted out with a few lovely welcome items. Bathrooms are all really luxurious with power showers and plenty of towels. Living areas are super comfy and cosy and the bedrooms are bright, airy with lovely comfy beds and so much storage space. Most importantly, everything is spotless and works! The whole property is filled with light and the windows allow you to control the temp really well (we were there in a heatwave and they let loads of air in when you want them to) I honestly couldn't think of anything that could be changed to make it better. We loved it so much and were sad to leave. We'll be back! Ps. We found it in the dark on the first night (great directions).

One of the best self catering houses we have stayed in. Spacious and very comfortable with stunning views of Lough Mask. Lots to do both nearby and short drives away. We would happily stay again. Erica

Lough Mask is a beautiful home with the most amazing views. It's warm, well equipped, and extremely comfortable. We loved waking to the amazing view, the waterfall bath (a BIG hit with our kids!) and the cosy warmth. It was an excellent base to explore the beautiful Ireland from, thank you! Will definitely be back! Anna

We have just returned from a four day stay at Marion’s beautiful home. The house was absolutely perfect - spacious, nicely designed, very well equipped. The views from every window are like little works of art. We hope to return very soon because four nights were just not enough! - Fiona

Beautiful house with stunning views of Lough Mask and mountains! Sitting out on the terrace in the evening drinking in those views with a glass of wine was very relaxing after a busy day. Tourmakeady was a great base to explore counties Mayo and Galway. Marion's house was spotlessly clean and had everything you might need. The welcome basket was very thoughtful. We hope to be back again soon! - Breda

Just back from a truly unforgettable 2 weeks in Tourmakeady. Marion's house is exactly as described, spacious, luxurious and with the most breathtaking views of the mountains and Lough Mask. We could have happily stayed in the house all day but there was so much to do within walking distance; swimming in the lake, hiking Binn Fheá or having a tasty pint in Máire Luke’s. The house is on a quiet road so was ideal for cycles with our young children. - Stephen
