A great family cottage, Blaen y Buarth is a simple, traditional cottage in the heart of Eryri / Snowdonia National Park.
This restoration has been a labour or love for Ceril and family - the house had lain empty for decades before their revival, though note the house retains a basic and rustic feel.
The good-sized garden welcomes with a firepit, chill-out seat, swing, and hut to store your mountain bikes and boots. Located in its own 7 acres and accessed by a private lane, it is still within walking distance of the local pub and only 4 miles from the tourist hub of Betws-y-Coed.

We left a review in the properties book as we loved the magic that this cottage gave us of stepping through the veil into another world. Everything about this property was just idyllic. From old school coffee grinder, to all the slate built around the property. The beautiful garden and the comfort of the bathroom, indoor wood burner and seclusion for total peace of mind. It was so peaceful.

A wonderful stay in such a nice cottage ! Blaen y Buarth was a dream, a pleasure, a comfort, a deep sense of feeling good. It was not a rental, it became home for a few days. We would stare through all the windows and rush out to look at the clouds, the stars, the rainbow, the cows, the sunset. We would sit under the beautiful tree or even take a nap on the grass, and we would fill our lungs with strong wind or gentle breeze and fill our head with memories which we will cherish. Our stay was just too short !

Blaen y Buarth is in a spectacular location and we thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend in Wales whilst staying there. It’s situation, in the heart of Snowdonia, meant we got to travel on some of the most beautiful roads in North Wales every day, as we headed for each of the four ‘Iron Ring’ castles of Edward 1st in Conwy, Caernarfon, Beaumaris and Harlech.

Blaen y Buarth exceeded our expectations. The cottage is in an idyllic location, and well placed for hikes in the region. The owners have thoughtfully restored the building and we found it both comfortable and peaceful. Thank you.

Amazing cottage, everything we needed for a lovely get away from it all weekend. Furnishings and beds were very high standard and super comfy. Loved all the antique and local things in the cottage. Would recommend to anyone wanting a secluded spot with views of the mountains. Thank you for the welcome card and Bara Brith… much appreciated and very yummy!

Fantastic cottage in a peaceful location. Great views from all windows. Lovely garden to sit in and enjoy the scenery. Very well equipped kitchen. Underfloor heating was lovely to walk on in the Morning. Great shower and bath. Forest walks straight from the door. Nice pub and shop in the village ( check pub opening times) Owner was quick to respond to our query.

Lovely week in a lovely cottage with frankly miraculous weather for Wales in October. Splendid isolation without being too far from civilisation, great vistas, including a spectacular view of the Milky Way on a clear, moonless night. Highly recommended. The dogs loved it too. Owner and housekeeper could not have been more helpful. Bendigedig!!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage, our dogs have loved the outside space. Particular enjoyed all the quirky features and have stumbled across many throughout our stay. The kitchen also is very well equipped with all the utensils we could ask for and the beds very comfortable. Thank you for allowing us into your home.

Blaen y Buarth is a lovely cottage set in an incredibly peaceful upland valley. Waking up there on a still summer morning is peaceful bliss - all you can hear is a bit of birdsong and the occasional cockerel. A wonderful place to get away from everything. We went back for the first time in 12 years (and found our daughter's young handwriting in an old guestbook) - only because it's so hard to book, we would have gone back before - but enjoyed it just as much as the first time.

We had a great weekend staying at Blaen Y Buarth, we explored all around North Wales, but loved coming back to light the cosy fire. We came away to celebrate our sons 9th birthday and the extra touches when we arrived were perfect. We would love to come and stay again.

We've had our eye on Blaen y Buarth for a while and it didn't disappoint. Lovely peaceful setting with views towards the mountains. The cottage is creatively furnished and finished to a high specification and very warm and comfortable. We had a great stay.

What a fantastic week away, hiding from the fireworks with our two rescue dogs. Perfect sleep, in a stunning location. We have rarely been so relaxed. Dark skies at night (necks aching from looking at the stars) and far reaching views in the most perfect November weather. A place to totally unwind. Thank you!!

What a delightful home! Tucked away from all the bustle of the outside world in the most tranquil of surroundings and beautiful sunsets. So cosy with or without the fire lit! So much thought and creativity has gone into restoring this quaint home. We loved it!
