Penbryn beach is famous for being one of the few wide, sandy beaches in the UK to have not a single building on it. For this reason, it has been used in a few films, including providing tropical beach scenes for a James Bond movie. It is one of the longest stretches of unspoilt sand in Cardigan Bay, yet often one of the quietest. The National Trust own all the land around here, so we're lucky to have one of (or the?) closest private rentals to the sand. It'll take you ten minutes to walk down the well-maintained footpath to the sands from Penbont - a charming traditional stone cottage with 10 acres of private meadow and woodland. A short walk up the lane you will find St. Michaels Church, one of the oldest churches in Wales - with lovely views across the valley and back to Penbont. This property wins more for 'location' than 'luxury', though several families love it enough to book it summer after summer.
Bwthyn carreg traddodiadol hardd yw Penbont a leolir mewn 10 erw o ddolydd a choetir preifat ger traeth Penbryn yr Ymddiriedolaeth Genedlaethol (un o’r harddaf ym Mhrydain). Mae’r môr o fewn pellter cerdded, neu cewch aros gartref a mwynhau’r golygfeydd, y lleoliad tawel a’r bywyd gwyllt yn y caeau sydd at eich defnydd unigryw chi. Mae’r caeau wedi’u ffermio’n organig felly mae cryn dipyn o flodau a bywyd gwyllt. Mae Penbryn yn draeth cwbl ddiddinistr heb unrhyw ddatblygiad o’i gwmpas. Mae’n un o’r traethau hwyaf yn y bae, ond yn un o’r tawelaf yn aml. Mae taith hyfryd ar droed drwy’r coed sy’n cynnwys toreth o’r rhedyn gorau yng Nghymru.

What a location! Being able to wander down to the beach was absolutely wonderful. We may have spent most of our money at the Plwmp Tart! Peace and quiet in the stunning gardens. We’ve already booked for next summer!

Roedd y bwthyn Penbont yn brydferth a chynnes iawn, ac roedd Derek yn gyfeillgar ac yn gyfathrebol. Mwynheuon ni fynd ar droed i’r traeth, a'r hufen ia yn y Plwmp Tart... Diolch yn fawr iawn am yr amser bendigedig!

Both cottage and garden were excellent with a 10 minute walk to the almost deserted beach at Penbryn. Penbont cottage was very clean and had everything needed for a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday..couldn’t recommend it more.

We had a lovely holiday at Penbot cottage. A simple but very homely cottage that we felt at home the moment we walked in. It has a really nice relaxed vibe and the welcome pack was really thoughtful. Altho the weather wasn't great we enjoyed the lovely walks through the Welsh rain forest dien to the beach which is beautiful. Must be lovely on a hot sunny day. Nights in by the fire and there is plenty of wood to enjoy. I brought a firestick so I could tune into Netflix YouTube Prime etc which gave us some choice in movies etc. So yeh, a great place and we really loved it. Many thanks.

We throughly enjoyed our week at Penbont. The cottage is in a beautiful location tucked up a lane 10 minutes walk from the beach. The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable. The wood burner kept things cozy at night, and the good supply of logs really helped. We would highly recommend this cottage!

Truly a wonderful place to stay no matter what your holiday plans are. One can just hang out and enjoy the solitude and lovely gardens or hike the coastal path and take in the great views of the Wales coast. The only downside to our stay was that our holiday ended and we had to leave. We appreciated the welcome gifts! Please encourage the owner to finish the Sami and continue the work on the willow pathway and arboretum. For us it was a pleasant surprise and a very welcome addition to the benefit of staying at Penbont. If life’s journey allows us to return, we will certainly book another holiday here and hopefully for a longer stay.

Penbont is a cosy cottage ideal for a family holiday. The garden is delightful and our granddaughter found her own Jurassic park where she could play with steggy the stegosaurus. There are games for all ages. A thoughtful welcome pack, comfy beds and lovely powerful shower make you feel at home. Dog bowls and sofa blankets for the dog. All in a great location for exploring the area. Thank you.

Penbont, Penbryn. Lovely place to stay comfortable accommodation and a charming mature cottage style garden. Penbryn beach is only a short walk away and Aberporth a couple of miles. Good location to explore this part of Wales.
