We’re regularly offered glamping units to advertise, and we reject most as they’re simply not comfortable enough - a holiday should of course be comfortable, relaxing, with privacy and great views. This hut and cabin combination has all those things, in spades.
Many people won’t know this area of Powys well (between Welshpool and Oswestry), but as architectural historians that have traversed almost every road in the country by this point, we can promise you won’t be disappointed. Here you’ll find the ‘old Wales’ of unspoiled small villages and charming towns and immaculate landscapes. It is simply beautiful, and there are lots of great walking trails in the area, and from the door. The Llangollen canal trail is one of several that owners Sarah and Clive can recommend - they live in the ancient oak-framed farmhouse up the track.
This really is one of the best quality, well-insulated hut/cabin combos that we’ve seen (and we see many!), and with great eco-credentials.

It was utter heaven and a perfect escape for a few days - only wish we could have stayed longer!

We had the most wonderful stay at Cwch Bach, it's a truly special place! It's so warm and cosy (and we stayed in winter and had snow), and is really thoughtfully and comfortably furnished. Sarah made us feel very welcome and was readily available for any queries. If you want to escape to somewhere where you can relax and unwind in peaceful, natural surroundings, stay here!

What a great time we had at Cwch Bach. Despite the sometimes cold windy weather we were never cold in the warm and well laid out accommodation. The wood burner in the shepherds hut was easy to start and needed only to tick over to keep it very wary warm. The shower room was tops and the kitchen had everything you needed if you wanted make an evening meal. Best of all was the location, peace and tranquillity. A perfect place to explore the ever changing scenes in the valleys and hills. The wildlife was at hand too, the hare would keep us amused and the arrival of the swallows entertained us from the kitchen table. The neighbouring ducks were fun to watch and provided eggs for breakfast too. Though we travelled far on a couple of days, we found there was much to do locally and plenty to explore on foot. Llanfyllin was a good starting point for walks with a couple of cafes to keep you going. Thank you to Sarah and Clive for making a holiday just right. The honey was lovely and so too the other bits that were there to welcome us. Best wishes, Stephen and Gill

We spent a relaxing few days at Cwch Bach. The hut and cabin are well set up and in a beautiful location overlooking fields and the valley. Hours were spent watching the cows, ducks, birds and hares in the fields. A perfect place to recharge the batteries with lots to do in the local area. Highly recommend staying here.

What a lovely quiet place for a break. Set in a beautiful landscape, the shepherd's hut was cosy and had everything we needed. Lovely hosts, highly recommended.

My partner and I had the most amazing stay in Sarah and Clive’s beautiful hut. We were stunned by the beauty of the place and couldn’t have hoped for a better way to unwind, disconnect and rest. The hut was really comfortable and the place was super clean too. The whole process was very convenient and we also enjoyed exploring the area. Will definitely go back! - Erick

What a fantastic and cosy place! Great garden, great view! Plus: Everything is very proper and beautifully prepared. Last but not least - Sarah is a very friendly host!

We loved the landscaping, view over the valley and the numerous chairs and benches that offered different perspectives. The kitchen was also very well stocked and the hut decor was comfortable and charming.

We had a beautiful stay at the comfortable Shepherd's Hut. The separate bathroom and kitchen, fully equipped (even stocked with some goodies like self-made jam and duck eggs!) is modern and only at a stone’s throw away from the Hut. We enjoyed the rural surroundings where you can make beautiful walks, and the ducks and young cows that came to greet us in the morning. A large supermarket and nice pub are only at a few kilometers.
