about the property

Priced for up to 4 staying, sleeps 10. Brecon Beacons contemporary barn near Hay-on-Wye and Abergavenny. Secluded, but not far from pubs, restaurants and shops. Great for a family holiday at Offa's Dyke.

A super house for large get-togethers.

Ysgubor y Ffin lies in one of the most beautiful rural locations in the UK, enjoying marvellous views of Offa's Dyke and Red Daren from the doorstep. The house was converted from an 18th-century barn into a spacious home, combining original oak-beamed character with a comfortable, contemporary living style.

The house and cottage annexe provides spacious accommodation for up to 10 guests: the main house sleeps 6 guests and the cottage annexe sleeps 4 allowing different generations of the same family to holiday together comfortably, whilst retaining their own private spaces.

Wow! What a lovely place to while away the time. The Golden Valley on one side, Offa's Dyke on the other and Hopes of Longtown on the way in. Stunning scenery and such peace and quiet. What's not...

Wow! What a lovely place to while away the time. The Golden Valley on one side, Offa's Dyke on the other and Hopes of Longtown on the way in. Stunning scenery and such peace and quiet. What's not to like. The cottages were lovely. Well appointed with all mod cons. Very comfortable and relaxing. Great for movie night if you get through all the board games! Watch out for the Woodpecker's nesting in the tree opposite the dining room and make a trip to Ty Gwyn cider shop in nearby Pontrilas. Michael, the host was great and a good time was had by all.

Beautiful House!!! We had an amazing weekend and the views were absolutely outstanding!! There are many fantastic walks and places to visit close by. Perfect weekend all round.

The home was absolutely stunning and accurately described. The valley the home resides in is truly spectacular. I highly recommend for hikers to drive 2 miles up the road to Black Hill Trail. It goes around the rim of the valley, is suitable for adults of all ages, and affords some amazing views. We ran into wild horses that blocked our path. Cannot be upset with wild horses though! The home is well stocked, but you will be best served to purchase groceries in Abergavenny prior to your arrival. Easy drive to Tintern Abbey and a couple of castles. I highly recommend this home if you are looking to get away from fast paced life. -Tae

A uniquely remote and beautiful location, we had a great week here over half term. We walked up Black Hill, visited the goat farm on the opposite side of the valley, walked over to Llanthony Priory (and back again), had a great couple of hours splashing in the river at Clodock just behind the Cornewall Arms (a really good river spot for kids), visited Hay on Wye on market day (Thursday), went mountain biking at Black Mountain Cycle Centre, had bbqs in the sun, what more can you ask for?! - Tom

Charming and well-appointed house in a beautiful and quiet location. Nice open-plan kitchen and dining area made this a very sociable place to stay for our family group. Bedrooms are a good size. We would highly recommend a stay here. James

Such a beautiful property and setting. The pictures, as good as they are, don’t quite do it justice.  Check in was as easy as can be, the directions entirely accurate and the property every bit as amazing as hoped. It’s a true home from home with everything needed to enjoy the space fully. Highly recommended for a peaceful break. Thank you again! Guest, Paul

What a lovely house, it had everything needed for a relaxing weekend, the cooking facilities, open plan kitchen, outside area and lounge allowed everyone to be sociable no matter what we were doing. The Crown Inn (a short walk away) was lovely both for dinner and breakfast. Paula

Even better than it looks or sounds in the reviews! The location is idyllic a real escape with unbelievable views whichever way you turn. We had 8 of us staying with two dogs and the space was just perfect. The house is super cosy and really well decorated, the beds are unbelievably comfortable! Cosy fires and tonnes of board games, the perfect combination after long days of walking. We are already planning the next trip back. Bethany

This is a beautiful house in an absolutely stunning spot. There is a lovely distribution of space in the house allowing for several different areas to socialise, read or relax depending on the moment. The outside seating areas mean you can make the most of nice weather. All the rooms are really nice, the beds are very comfortable making for a good night's sleep. We loved the well kitted out kitchen which had everything we needed. Thank you very much. Lydia
