Small is beautiful, and our tiny (really tiny) Popty Pennant is an absolute gem of a cottage restored by the former inspector of buildings for Cadw in North Wales, who lives in the manor next door. This sweet cottage is classic ‘Under the Thatch’ stuff - perfectly conserved using authentic materials and furnished with a super eye for detail. Book this cottage and enjoy access over the beautiful gardens of the farm (this is a former farm on the Chirk Castle estate), great walking in the area, and visit the charming heritage towns around, of which Llangollen and Chirk are just the start.

The cottage was everything that I hoped it would be - like stepping back in time. The open fire was a real draw for me and despite the shocking weather, the excellent central heating kept the cottage snug. It is extremely compact as you can see from the listing, the the space is used very well and there is everything that you might need. The location again was perfect for me - it feels extremely remote although in reality you’re not far from Chirk - and it was utterly silent. Nick was extremely helpful and welcoming - and in all, I had the relaxing break that I hoped for.
