about the property

Priced for up to 8 staying, sleeps 8. Fabulous holiday home in harbour town New Quay, Ceredigion, West Wales where you can watch dolphins from your door-step!

San Remo is a bright and spacious modern beach house with incredible sea views over Cardigan Bay. We formerly advertised this house as 'Swn y Don', but have recently reverted to its orignal name  - the house was named San Remo as it reminded its builders of the views in San Remo on the Italian Riviera.

You're in the heart of Cei Newydd (New Quay) and can see dolphins from your living room on many days of the year. If you can't see them at home it's only yards down to the harbour from where the boat trips regularly go to see them or enjoy the shallow sandy beaches.

Great cafes and restaurants on your doorstep - location is everything here, and (a rare thing in popular New Quay) you even get your own private parking space.

customer reviews for San Remo

Sŵn y Don A great place to stay, with stunning views from picture windows in the living space and in the bedrooms, hard to beat. In the heart of NewQuay, a five minute walk to the beach, ice cream, fish and chips, coffee and the Wales coastal path. What’s not to like.

An absolutely stunning position in a fantastic place. The views are hard to beat and beach only 5 minute walk away. Everything you need in a holiday home and very clean. Every room has a view! 3rd time staying here and will definitely be back.

We had a superb family holiday at Swn y Don. It is a beautiful roomy house with amazing views. We spent hours on the very large and comfy sofa looking out for dolphins. Thank you for a lovely break.

Just perfect! Parking on plot, worth its weight in gold in Newquay (so no worries about where will I park on return if we go out). Superb views, day and night, from the picture windows (which would have been a life-saver had we had the expected bad weather and forced to sit and chill). And, let's be practical: 3 toilets so none of the usual fights for the often single facility (enough said in that respect). The swap to living space upstairs and sleeping down is a masterstroke, and the open plan worked well for socializing. A few minutes walk uphill to the supermarket, and a couple of minutes walk down to the harbour, so perfectly positioned. I wondered, beforehand, if the electric heating would be sufficient for Feb and was surprised to find it warm and cosy. The acid test - would I be prepared to live there? ... absolutely yes, so recommended!

We had a fantastic time at Sŵn y Don . The accommodation was fantastic and we really felt at home. It was lovely waking in the morning to see the dolphins in the bay. I’d recommend this to anyone looking to visit this lovely part of Ceredigion. New Quay is great for ice cream, fish and chips and just generally chilling. Hopefully we will be back sometime.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Swn y Don. A lovely spacious property in excellent condition. Very close to all local amenities. Stunning views over Bae Ceredigion.

What a special place. We enjoyed every moment of our time at Sŵn y Don. The house is positioned looking out over the ocean, so that at any time of day you can enjoy being on the coast. The beach is so close that you can hear the waves on the sand. One afternoon we sat on the sofa and watched a group of porpoise surfacing over and over. The house itself is wonderful. It's so comfortable, clean and well-finished. Every room is breezy. It has a very positive atmosphere to it that's both energising and relaxing. I really appreciated how well equipped we found the house to be. Little things like there being a coffee pot (we'd forgotten to pack ours) and spare lightbulbs. Finding ice in the freezer after a long day in the sun was bliss. We'll definitely be going back again.

After a stay at an inland UTT last September, we returned to West Wales determined to stay at the coast. We couldn’t get much closer with this beautiful home overlooking New Quay harbour & the resident dolphins. We both needed a convalescence stay and this was perfect with beaches, walks, sea swims & great restaurants all on the doorstep, if you can tear yourself away from the views. Already planning a return in Autumn.

Fantastic cottage with incredible views of the sea and dolphins. The girls and I loved the cliff climb adventures, kayaking, jumps off the harbour and the amazing wildlife. We saw butterflies, bumble bees, seals, crabs and jellyfish. Thanks for looking after us - we will be back in 2020. Tiny&TheGirls.

The house was very clean, welcoming and well decorated. The rooms were comfortable and spacious and each had an amazing view of the bay, especially the lounge. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The beach was within walking distance as was a great choice of bars, restaurants and shops. There was a great aray of activities for all ages and interests. We would definitely choice this property again. You can’t beat having a little drink sitting in the lounge and watching dolphins out of the floor to ceiling window! Guest, April 2019
